Applied jurisprudence refers to the systematic study and analysis of jurisprudential issues within specialized fields and topics. This branch of jurisprudence focuses on specific matters, aiming to provide jurisprudential solutions for various societal issues, thereby addressing the daily needs of people. With its emphasis on specialization, flexibility, practicality, and responsiveness to contemporary demands, it plays a significant role in engaging with the diverse and dynamic challenges of society. Notable characteristics of applied jurisprudence include its interaction with other disciplines and its depth and precision in analyzing jurisprudential issues.
As a branch of Islamic jurisprudence that deals with the systematic and macro-level analysis of topics, applied jurisprudence requires structured and well-defined stages. This process generally involves five key steps: compiling issues and discussions related to a macro-level topic within existing jurisprudence, exploring and examining emerging issues, deriving rulings for these issues in a coordinated manner, systematically organizing the issues with a social perspective, and establishing a network of evidences.
This article begins by presenting the fundamental concepts of applied jurisprudence, followed by an analysis of its characteristics and their impact on jurisprudential issue analysis. Subsequently, it examines the methods used in applied jurisprudence for addressing various issues. Finally, the application of applied jurisprudence in a specific specialized field is elaborated. This research aims to offer a comprehensive and practical perspective on applied jurisprudence, demonstrating its significance and role in addressing the diverse and evolving needs of society
